Instructions for use.

Step One: Build something they’ll actually want to use.

Step Two: Read below!

New Brace Instructions.

When you first receive your device(s), you will need to give your body some time to acclimate to being in a new and corrected position. Here are some tips and tricks.

  1. Wear the devices up to one hour on Day 1. This hour can be broken up into smaller sessions or worn altogether. Day 2, wear the devices up to two hours total. Gradually increase wear time by 30 min - 1 hour each day. If necessary, you may need to decrease wear time to acclimate at a slower pace. This is not a problem, some people just need more time! Typical break-in period lasts 2-3 weeks.

  2. If your devices cause any pain, remove them for the rest of the day and do not increase wear time the next day. The following day, resume the break-in schedule and gradually increase time.

  3. Always do skin checks to look for redness or skin breakdown, especially over bony prominences. Some redness is to be expected as we are now bracing the body into a new and more functional position. Any redness that lasts longer than 20 minutes after brace removal? Please call us as we may need to perform some adjustments.

  4. Always wear socks and shoes with your orthotic device.

  5. Shoes will affect fit! Try and remember to wear shoes with a wider and/or deeper toe box. A shoe with a removable insole may provide more depth as well. It usually helps to receive the braces or orthotics first, and then take them with you to the store. That way, you can make sure that both the brace and the foot fit inside! If you want to purchase shoes ahead of time, just make sure the store has a good return policy in the event that they don’t work out.

When to call us!

  1. If you have any skin breakdown or redness that lasts longer than 20 minutes after removing the brace, we may need to make some adjustments.

  2. If your child has been wearing the device without issue for months, and all of a sudden you are hearing complaints of being uncomfortable or having pain points, those could be signs of growth. We may need to consider getting new, larger braces.

  3. Our devices are designed for activity, and normal wear and tear is appropriate. If you feel you need a large repair (cracks in the plastic/carbon), please don’t hesitate to call us! We may be able to cover these repairs under warranty. Padding and strapping refurbishments are also available.
